父や叔父、友人たちの病や死を経験したことをきっかけに、この作品を制作した。
身近な人の不在を通して、「死」は決して特別な出来事ではなく、
日々の延長線上にあるものだと感じるようになった。
卵やドール、骸骨、時計、そして灯といった象徴的なモチーフを通し、
生まれること、愛すること、失うこと、そして再び静けさに還っていく過程を見つめている。
「やがてくるものたち」とは、いつかこの世界を渡る、私たちすべてのことだ。
避けられない終わりを恐れるのではなく、その中にある穏やかさややさしさを受け止めたい。
光が消える瞬間にも、かすかな温もりが残っているーー
そんな祈りのような感情を、この作品に託した。
To Those Who Are Yet to Come
The experience of illness and the passing of my father, my uncle, and close friends became the catalyst for this body of work. Through the absence of those once near to me, I have come to feel that death is not an extraordinary event, but something that exists as a natural extension of our daily lives.
Using symbolic motifs—eggs, dolls, skeletons, clocks, and lights—I contemplate the journey of being born, loving, losing, and eventually returning to silence. “Those who will eventually come” refers to all of us who will one day cross over from this world.
Rather than fearing the inevitable end, I wish to embrace the serenity and gentleness found within it. Even in the moment the light fades, a faint warmth remains. I have infused this work with that prayer-like emotion.
